Welcome to the IDEA Regina (Individuals with Disabilities Equity Alliance of Regina) website.  People with disabilities, our friends and our supporters, created this site.  We make every effort to keep our site currrent and informative but as a volunteer based orginizations we sometimes expereince delays. 

We are an independent cross-disability advocacy group. Contrary to what many Canadians believe people with disabilities continue to face barriers to full citizesnship and participation.  As a result many live in poverty.  On this site you will find information on the issues facing people with disabilities and what we have identified as our priorities for action. Our perspective is global but our focus is local and provincial. Please join IDEA if you can. If you cannot please educate yourself on the issues. Your support is critical.  

‘The Regina Disability Manifesto' is a must read page.  The Manifesto was issued in 2006 in the face of growing frustration over inadequate progress. The Manifesto tells you who we are, what we believe in, and what we plan to do.  We are in the process of updating the Manifesto to reflect the fact the the U.N. Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities has been ratified by Canada.
